Plate Voice

Matte Poster · $24

Bow the edge of a metal plate and dust gathers along the nodal lines — the standing wave's zeroes. Ernst Chladni drew these in 1787 and toured Europe with them; Napoleon paid to watch. This one resonates at modes (4,9)+(9,5).
